Warren Luhrs, aboard Hunter's Child and Thursday's Child, has brought countless hours of experience and offshore testing to the Hunter Design team. As a result, the Legend Series enjoys a combination of performance, tough construction, and short handed sailing capabilities. Features such as the grid beam construction for tremendous strength; bulb-wing keel for stability and performance; fractional rig with full batten main for smaller headsails and increased performance; sail flaking, single line reefing, and furling system to simplify sail handling are all standard on the Legend 40.5. The cockpit seating is wide and deep, offering maneuverablilty and great comfort. Positioned centrally is a combination helm station/cockpit table. The helm station includes knot meter, depth sounder, compass, VHF radio, engine panel, single lever engine control and wheel brake - all standard equipment on the Legend 40.5. An added bonus is the ability to entertain above decks, made possible by the large cockpit table with drink holders and storage, plus seating for numerous friends. Also, the cockpit includes five generous storage lockers, a walk through transom, plus our popular integrated swim platform complete with shower. For entertaining, swimming, diving, or just relaxing, the 40.5 cockpit is designed to accommodate you. Strength, performance and a great cockpit, however, doesn't mean sacrificing your comfort below. You'll find the Legend 40.5 interior is a striking balance of style, comfort and function. Dual staterooms, dual heads with showers, plus a huge main salon offer tremendous comfort for extended cruises. The galley, finished in Corian, features a large refrigerator with front and top access, freezer, deep double sinks, a three burner stove with oven, plus generous stowage for dry goods and dinnerware.
